Art meets surfing?
Surf 1770 Art & Experimental Surfboard Design
Art and surfing have had many failed attempts at fusing together during their history. Finally, with innovative and experimental surfboard designs, Surf1770 has broken down the barriers between the two worlds.
Surf 1770 is collective works of two artists, Erle Pedersen, a qualified engineer / surfboard shaper and Glenn ( Glencat ) Collins who has shaped surfboards for over 25 years. Both guys have been creating art and design in the surfing world since the late 70's.
Fiberglass and foam is what these artists call their canvas. Both artists work individually on each board, creating both the surfboard design and artwork at separate times throughout their creation. This process leads to a union of amazing ideas and designs.
The art world and design of surfboards world have at last truly combined!
Among the array of surfboard designs and artwork, the team from Surf1770 also dabble in the surfing accessories department.
Boardsling is one of these venture's. This easy to store and use surfing product is designed for carrying your surfboard on those long walks to that secret surfing spot. Through srub or down the street, boardsling will save your arms and shoulders from tiring before you even hit the water.
On an average day at the beach you’ll see every type of surfboard design under the sun from fishes to eggs, hybrid fun boards to classic noseriders, and quads to traditional thrusters. Surf 1770 uses these surfboard design boundaries and busts out of the everyday mould.
Longboards, shortboards, mini mal's or even if you have never even experienced surfing, Surf 1770 will never fail to inspire and capture the imagination of anyone who encounters what we create here, surfer or not!
